Former Rangers star Nacho Novo will not be signing a deal with St Mirren this week.
The 34-year old Spanish striker has been training with the Buddies since leaving Greenock Morton late last year but manager Danny Lennon suggests he is not looking to bring him to Paisley.
"We brought Nacho Novo in for a chat, as he had formed a lucrative partnership with big Thomo (Steven Thompson) in the past and has scored a lot of goals in Scotland," he said.
"We are no longer pursuing this avenue."
