No rush for new signings at Adelaide United

Adelaide United coach Aurelio Vidmar says he will not rush into signing new players ahead of the next A-League season.

The Reds need more creative flair and attacking presence in their squad if they are to again challenge for the title but Vidmar does not want to go out and sign the first players he sees.

"A marquee striker would be nice but the top-choice ones cost you millions and we don't have that," said Vidmar.

"You have B or C-class strikers that might be able to do a job but it is very difficult to juggle.

"We have lots of players on lists but it is about making sure we find the right ones that will service our needs.

"It could take one week or a month. We don't want to rush into it," he added.

"We have to make sure that the ones we do get are able to fill a role for us.

"It will be extremely important that they can do what we need to make the team tick.

"We start back in the middle of the month. It is not necessary that we have recruits right from the first day back at training, but it would be nice so they can get into the club environment."
