Xabi Alonso has denied being approached by Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Reports have suggested that the Liverpool ace was targeted by Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez but the player has denied any such contact.

"I have not been contacted by Florentino Perez," Alonso told a press conference.

"I am not into commenting on hypothesis.

"I don't have anything to say.

"The truth is that I am pretty much relaxed, focused on what I have to do.

"At the present time I am only focused on Spain and on the game with Turkey."
