No Newcastle Jets guest stint for Crystal Palace's Carle

Newcastle Jets coach Branko Culina will make do with his current squad and will not try to bring in a guest player. The Jets have recently been linked with former club star Nicky Carle who is struggling for game time with Crystal Palace and looks almost certain to leave the Championship club.

Carle was reportedly a target for Culina to bring over as a guest player but the Jets coach has dismissed those talks.

"The one I know about is Nicky Carle, but I'm led to believe they [Crystal Palace] won't make any decision over there until January, so I don't expect anything," Culina said.

"Firstly, the club needs to want to release the player and secondly, I think Nicky is on a lot more money than we could afford to pay.

"To be honest, I don't see it happening and it's only someone like Nicky Carle that would interest us, because of his affinity with the club and the area.

"We're more than comfortable with what we've got at the moment, and it's a matter of going out there and showing what we're capable of.

"For the first time we've got everyone on board, so we're comfortable with the players we've got as long as we don't have any further setbacks."
