Newcastle United midfielder Kevin Nolan will escape a club fine after his dismissal on the weekend.

Nolan saw red after an X-rated challenge on Everton striker Victor Anichebe, but The Sun says Newcastle will NOT be punishing former Bolton man Nolan.

The Scouser is now banned for three games after his sending off.

And a close pal of Nolan's said: "Kevin said sorry to all his team-mates as well as apologising to Victor.

"He knows it looks bad but wants to put it behind him and move on."
