US Men's National Team Goalkeeper Brad Guzan finally won his debut for Aston Villa in a third round Carling Cup tie against QPR. Having to fight for a first team place with fellow countryman Brad Friedel, Guzan was named as first choice keeper for the cup clash often used by clubs in the top flight to give outsider squad members a start. Guzan can mark this one down to experience though as he was hardly troubled until QPR's Damian Stewart rose to head home from a Daniel Parejo cross.

Guzan is expected to be back on the bench for the upcoming Premier League match against Sunderland.
