Arsenal are writing former captain Cesc Fabregas out of their history. The London Evening Standard says Arsenal have removed a banner from the Ken Friar Bridge at the Emirates Stadium, depicting a large image of Fabregas.
The bridge, named in honour of the club's long-serving director, will no longer feature an image of the Spaniard who moved to Chelsea from Barcelona in a £27m move in June.
After moving to Stamford Bridge, Fabregas explained his decision and made it clear he would have returned to former Arsenal had they chosen to trigger the buy-back clause in his contract, which was installed when he left the Emirates for Barcelona in 2011.
