Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez insists he was disappointed to see Premiership clubs eliminated from the Champions League.

After victory over Europa League opponents Benfica, reporters asked if Benitez felt an extra sense of satisfaction at Liverpool's progression after the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal crashed out of the Champions League this week.

He said: "Not really. To be in a semi-final of a European competition is really good for us, but I don't have a problem with the other teams also progressing in the Champions League.

"Hopefully we can see Fulham in the final and see two English teams there."
