Despite growing speculation, Parma striker Cristiano Lucarelli will not be leaving the Serie B club for Fiorentina.

Parma sporting director Andrea Berta has quashed the rumours surrounding the Azzurri talisman's move back to the Serie A.

"Over the last 10 days there have been voices saying that Cristiano will leave Parma, but they are absolutely untrue," Berta told Tuttomercatoweb.

"He is one of the best in his role."
