Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will escape further punishment after receiving a red card against Fulham on the weekend.
Rooney will serve the mandatory one-match ban but will be given no extra penalty for his reaction to the dismissal handed out by referee Phil Dowd.
The Football Association confirmed that there was no abuse toward Dowd from Rooney.
"We have clarified with Phil Dowd that there was no abuse from the player after he was dismissed,:" an FA spokesman said.
"In relation to the incident when he punched the corner flag, the referee did not see that and we have written to Wayne Rooney reminding him of his responsibilities."
