No excuses! Man Utd winger Lingard apologises for subpar derby showing

Jesse Lingard took to Twitter to acknowledge his poor display for Manchester United on Saturday.

The 23-year-old winger was hooked by Jose Mourinho at half-time of United's eventual 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the derby at Old Trafford.

Lingard, who was replaced by Marcus Rashford when Henrikh Mkhitaryan made way for Ander Herrera, offered no excuses for his below par performance wth the following Tweet.

Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho had City two goals ahead by the 36-minute mark before Lingard's teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic struck a sublime volley before half-time to give the Red Devils some hope but they could not find an equaliser in the second half.
