Michael Owen has played down suggestions that he could be on his way to Everton.
The veteran striker is out of contract after being released by Manchester United earlier this summer and has been linked with a number of clubs since.
The latest news is that Everton are keen on signing the former Liverpool star but Owen was quite firm when responding to the speculation on Twitter.
"Just rumours," was the response of the boyhood Evertonian.
Stoke City are also in for Owen but as yet there have been no official offers to the 32-year old.
