Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said he has no doubt that his side were the deserved winners against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Red Devils defeated the Cherries 3-1 in the season opener at the Vitality Stadium thanks to goals from Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

When asked what pleased him about the result, Mourinho said: "The three points, the quality of our attacking football, the quality of our control, the quality of us defensively – we were very compact.

"It's three points against a very difficult opponent and I don't think there's any doubt we deserved to win."
