Retiring Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will join the board of directors at the club after announcing his retirement as manager on Wednesday morning.
The Scot, 71, will take on an ambassadorial role as well as joining the likes of the Glazers on the board.
He released a statement this morning which confirmed his decision to move "upstairs".
It read: "Going forward, I am delighted to take on the roles of both director and ambassador for the club.
"With these activities, along with my many other interests, I am looking forward to the future."
