No chance of Donovan returning to Everton
Following the aversion of the potential MLS players strike, LA Galaxy’s Landon Donovan will definitely not return to Everton this season.
The USA international was impressive during his ten-week stay at Goodison Park and there were calls for him to remain a Toffees player, especially if the North American top flight league was to have a delayed start in 2010, but after a new Collective Bargaining Agreement was put in place, the chances of him coming back are now almost nonexistent.
If the player strike has taken place, Donovan would have been free to return to Everton until things in MLS were sorted out but as that is no longer the case, he will remain in Los Angeles to prepare for this weekend’s first kick with the Galaxy.
