Bournemouth's bid to sign Egyptian striker Reda Shehata appears to have fallen through.
Shehata has been training with the League One club during pre-season and the forward featured in two friendlies.
Cherries boss Kevin Bond opened talks regarding a deal for the Egypt international, but the player appears to have been unimpressed by the contract offer.
"Reda was here last week and didn't do badly for us," Bond told the club's official website.
"There was a bit to like about him and we wanted him to come down and stay with us.
"We gave him an indication of the sort of money we could pay and he jumped on the first plane to Egypt.
"That's the sort of situation we are in right now.
"He's on the plane, so whatever we thought we wanted to pay him, and what he thought he wanted, was sufficiently apart for him not to stay and negotiate."
