No Birmingham deals for Costly, Agustien

Carlos Costly and Kemy Agustien are leaving Birmingham City.

The Birmingham Mail says the Blues have decided against taking up options to buy loan players Costly and Agustien.

Honduran striker Costly, who joined in January from Polish side Belchatow essentially as cover, failed to make the required impact.

Dutch midfielder Agustien came with a promising reputation from AZ Alkmaar in August but only showed glimpses of his worth.

Alex McLeish felt he couldn't justify a £2 million outlay on Agustien, who was hampered in the latter stages of the season by a groin injury.

Costly failed to score in eight appearances and was rated at around £3 million by his club.

Eck said: "Kemy was upset, he really loves it here. But, unfortunately, although I know there's a better footballer in him than we've seen, I just couldn't commit myself to bringing him in for the money asked."
