Seattle Sounders recruit Blaise Nkufo will link up with his new team in less than two weeks according to head coach Sigi Schmid.
The 35-year old striker has been on national duty with the Swiss team at the World Cup and is expected to arrive at the club in the next ten days or so.
"Adrian (Hanauer) is in communication with him so it looks like, I don't know what the final date is, but it looks like he's going to come in somewhere around the 12th or 13th [of July], somewhere around that time. So that's probably not going to include him in the D.C. game (on the 15th) but then we will move forward from there," Schmid said.
He added that the former FC Twente star's debut could come in the friendly with Scottish giants Celtic on July 18.
"Possibly. We have got to see where he is because we are giving him this time as a break time. So physically where he is, even on his break time he will be doing some stuff and so forth, it's not like he's just going to sit around, but we want to get him around the ball. So maybe it's the friendly, maybe it's the game on the 25th," he added.
