Seattle Sounders recruit Blaise Nkufo is aware that there are high expectations placed for his new club.p> The Swiss international has finally arrived at the MLS club after signing in March from Dutch champions FC Twente and already understands that Sounders fans want the club to reach great heights in just their second season in the top flight.
"Yes, the expectations I can understand. I was told last year that they want to see the team on the top," he told the Seattle Times. "I think the team and the players have big expectations, too. We have to just find the way to be back in better position for the team and to deal with the expectation."
As for his own role within the team, Nkufo said it was too early to tell and insisted he would take a patient approach.
"Well, I think it's always hard to explain what I can do for the team. Maybe the team can do something for me. But, I have experience and I'm going to watch and listen, too and I'm going to find, with the help of my teammates, my own way. That takes time," he added.
