Ninety points total for Terry and Chelsea

Chelsea are currently encountering their first major blip under Carlo Ancelotti after failing to win their last four matches in all competitions, but they still top the domestic table by three points. However, with Chelsea having lost three times in the league already this season, and closest challengers Manchester United having suffered four defeats, there are suggestions that the 2009/10 champions will not require a big points total.

Blues skipper John Terry does not subscribe to that view, though, and sees no reason why the Blues can not surpass the 90-point mark achieved in the club's title-winning campaigns of 2005 and 2006.

"I keep hearing that the top teams will win fewer points and suffer more defeats this time around, and, because we've already suffered three losses, people buy into that argument. I don't," said Terry.

Regarding reaching 90 points, he added: "That's what we achieved both seasons we won the title, and in all the seasons since then it would have been enough to win it again.

"We need to keep at the level we have set. There is no rest in football, we have to be prepared and perform at the highest level all the time."
