Scotland boss Craig Levein has seen his preparations for Tuesday's friendly against the Faroe Islands hit with nine withdrawals. Levein had already left several regulars out of his original squad, including Rangers trio Allan McGregor, Kenny Miller and Lee McCulloch.
However, the Scottish Football Association have announced that Christophe Berra (knee), Chris Burke (groin), Gary Caldwell (thigh), Graham Dorrans (foot), Matt Gilks (knee), Alan Hutton (groin), James Morrison (knee), Steven Naismith (shoulder) and Steven Whittaker (knee) have all withdrawn.
Celtic skipper Shaun Maloney, Wigan defender Steven Caldwell, Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth, Blackpool full-back Stephen Crainey, Kilmarnock skipper Craig Bryson and Middlesbrough midfielder Barry Robson have been drafted into the squad.
More players could be added to the squad on Monday depending on availability.
