Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic struck twice to help his team go 15 points clear of Celtic after victory over Dundee United.

Jelavic fired the Gers into a two-goal lead - and even though Jon Daly grabbed one back, the Croat forced Garry Kenneth into an own goal to help make the three points safe.

It leaves Ally McCoist's men with a vice-like grip at the top of the table - and the Hoops chasing thin air in third.

The only blot for Rangers was sub Gregg Wylde's late red card.
