Nihat Kahveci hopes to return for Villarreal in the final weeks of the season.
However, the 27-year-old is now back to fitness and he could be involved in Villarreal's season-ending Primera Liga matches against Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla.
"I am very well, I have had various weeks of training with the team without any problem and for that I am happy," said Nihat, who has seen fellow long-term injury victims Robert Pires and Gonzalo Rodriguez return to the Villarreal team recently.
"I would like to help the team in the two games which remain, but it is most important that I am feeling good and well recovered.
"My dream is to return to being the same Nihat that I was before," added the former Real Sociedad striker, who famously netted 23 goals to help the San Sebastian club finish second in La Liga in 2003.
"My dream is to return to playing at this level," he said in Marca.
