The Nigerian squad have stepped up security at their World Cup hotel after midfielder Sani Kaita received over a 1,000 death threats in his email account. After the Super Eagles' 2-1 defeat to Greece on Thursday in which Kaita was sent off with his team 1-0 up, the Nigerian's email address was posted on an Internet message board, along with the rather extreme instructions 'this man must die'.
But apparently Kaita himself isn't fussed. According to AFP: "I am not worried about it," said the defensive midfielder who won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games when Nigeria finished runners-up.
"Only god decides who lives and who dies. Everybody has their own destiny on this earth."
