Nigerian legend Finidi George admits he came close to joining Manchester United AND Real Madrid during his career.

The former Real Betis star is now back with the Seville club in a coaching capacity.

And he recalled: "Many of the big European clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United were interested in me, but it was Real Madrid that I almost joined.

"My agent even reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid, but things in the end broke down at the last minute. So I signed with Betis."
