Nigel Pearson has denied claims Sunderland have approached him to be their manager.
According to the Daily Star, Pearson would not be interested in the job, even if the Black Cats had called him.
Pearson narrowly missed out on the vacant Middlesbrough job to Garry Monk.
The former Leicester City manager has been unemployed since he left Derby County last year.
Sunderland, on the other hand, continues to find roadblocks in their search for a manager to fill David Moyes' shoes.
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes also publicly ruled himself out of contention earlier this month.
