New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol has praised his side for producing a brilliant performance to beat the Seattle Sounders 3-1 after a tough week.

The Revs were unlucky in losing 2-1 to Philadelphia Union last weekend and then went down in the SuperLiga final against Monarcas Morelia on Wednesday but put that behind them to grab a solid win on the weekend, pleasing Nicol greatly.

"I think it speaks for itself after the week we've had," he said. "We basically got robbed the three points last weekend. We were real unfortunate on Wednesday in the [SuperLiga] final. But to come back from those two games - the third game in eight days - and go about it the way we did I think says all we need to know about the players and their attitude and the commitment and how they stick together. It was fantastic."
