Nicklas Helenius scored on his Aston Villa debut in their 1-1 friendly draw with SV Rodinghausen.

Villa opened the scoring through Helenius' near post header from Matt Lowton's cross on the hour mark following a quiet start to the game in the first half.

Soren Siek then levelled for the home side as Paul Lambert gave new signings Aleksandar Tonev, Jores Okore, Leandro Bacuna, Antonio Luna, Jed Steer and Helenuis some match time.
