Charlie Nicholas has suggested a pair of midfielders who would fit the Manchester City mold well.
With Yaya Toure potentially on his way out the Etihad Stadium exit door this summer, Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has identified Bayern Munich defensive midfielder Javi Martinez and Atletico Madrid winger Antoine Griezmann would be great inclusions.
The former Arsenal forward indicated that City would not be successful if they were to pursue Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere, imploring last season's premiers to go after Javi and Griezmann.
"It depends what's available. I don't see anything materialising with Jack Wilshere and they'll definitely go abroad," he said on Sky.
"Somebody like Javi Martinez, who is very intelligent but has missed most of the season with injuries, is the sort of player they need and would give them better balance with (David) Silva.
"Then there's the possibility of Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas, who has been a waste, moving on and I think Griezmann would be the perfect replacement.
"Martinez and Griezmann are the sort of players they need to sign, players that will bring pace and momentum to their play."
