Nice star Kone wants Premiership move

Ivory Coast international Bakary Kone has spoken of his desire to seal a switch to the Premier League.

Kone currently plays for Ligue 1 club Nice but he is keen to follow in the footsteps of a number of his international team-mates and move to England.

The striker is a huge fan of the English game and feels he would be able to succeed despite being small in stature.

"The Premier League is the most exciting league," Kone told skysports.com.

"Every player in the world dreams of playing in that league, with the big crowds and the coverage it gets around the globe.

"When I was growing up it was all about the French league but today people talk of (Didier) Drogba, (Abdoulaye) Meite, (Didier) Zokora, (Salomon) Kalou. I really want to be part of that.

"I am very fast and technically very good. All the players in the Premier League have those qualities so I can make a name for myself."

The 26-year-old admits he would be attracted by an offer from Arsenal, but would also be happy to play for any of the Premier League's other top sides.

Asked which team he likes, Kone replied: "Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa are all good teams, even Portsmouth, and West Ham are not bad."
