Santos star Neymar may resist a move to Chelsea this summer after news broke he is about to become a father.
Chelsea are at the front of the queue to sign the £39million-rated Santos forward, who saw his reputation enhanced with a match-winning performance in his country's friendly against Scotland earlier this year.
However, the 19 year-old is to become a father -with his girlfriend believed to be three months pregnant - which has cast into doubt any potential move away from his country.
In a statement on his website, Neymar said: "I can confirm the information that I will become father this year. The two families have talked and are ready to help us bring the baby into the world, giving him all necessary assistance and the best possible structure.
"By common agreement, it has been decided to preserve the mother's name. This measure aims to calm her during the coming months, avoiding her any unnecessary exposure and ensuring mainly the privacy of the child to be born a few months.
"I ask everyone to respect this decision. The desired peace is essential for successful pregnancy.
"I conclude by asking God to bless the lives of our children! It will be very welcome and already have all our affection and love."
