Chelsea coach Eddie Newton has made a check on their young players on-loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

Defensive pair Tomas Kalas and Patrick van Aanholt, along with winger Gael Kakuta, are all shining with Vitesse in the Eredivisie this season.

"Patrick, Gaël and Tomás are making excellent development. Can they make it at Chelsea? They are in any case well on the way," Newton told Voetbal International.

"The champagne bottle has not been uncorked, but we are very happy with Chelsea's recent success with Vitesse. Gaël, Patrick and Tomás have made an important contribution in the good performances of Vitesse and we get better players back.

"That is better for all parties."
