Chelsea No2 Eddie Newton admits their run to the Champions League final has been "surreal".

Newton was not involved in football earlier this season before getting the call from good friend Roberto di Matteo.

"Surreal, isn't it?" Newton told the Daily Mail. "Maybe, in the summer, when I look back at the three months, maybe then I'll pinch myself. But when you're in it you just don't have time.

"You're in at 7.30am, you leave at 6.30pm and you're constantly on a roll: travelling, prepping, training. It's like Groundhog Day but I'm really enjoying it."
