Newport County boss Terry Butcher is chasing former Crystal Palace defender Danny Gabbidon.
Gabbidon is currently with Cardiff City and is wanted by Butcher along with Swansea City fullback Alan Tate.
The Welsh pair are available on free transfers and Butcher is hoping to convince them to join him at Rodney Parade.
England legend Butcher was named Newport manager last month.
