Colorado Rapids head coach Pablo Mastroeni will opt for a pair of off-season signings to take the captaincy responsibilities this season.
With regular skipper Drew Moor continuing his recovery from surgery he underwent for a serious knee injury, the Rapids may turn to two newly-acquired players to lead the team in 2015.
Mile High Sports Radio reporter Marco Cummings Tweeted that Mastroeni was considering handing the reins to Marcelo Sarvas and Sam Cronin during Moor's absence.
33-year old Brazilian midfielder Sarvas joined Colorado from LA Galaxy on January 15 in a trade which saw the MLS Cup winners land allocation money and the number three slot in the allocation ranking.
28-year old Cronin arrived at Dick's Sporting Goods Park last month after spending the past four-and-a-half years with the San Jose Earthquakes.
