Newcastle United defender Peter Ramage is on the way back.

The 24-year-old jogged for the first time on Tuesday since tearing his cruciate ligament at Middlesbrough on August 18, and although he still faces another three months on the sidelines, there is at least light at the end of the tunnel.

Ramage said: "It is more than three months since the injury, and this is a halfway marker.

"It was good to get my boots on as it has been a while. I had to dust them down a bit."
