Newcastle United defender Peter Ramage is set to see action next week.

The Evening Chronicle says the ever-willing and popular Ramage is due to play in a reserve game next week after recovering from a bad knee injury.

He told the club's website: "I can't wait to be honest and it has been really tough, especially because results haven't been good and all you want to do is help.

"I'm more than confident we have what it takes to get out of trouble and all we need is that first win."
