Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson admits he has extra motivation to beat Stoke City.

Stoke-born Williamson needs little incentive to help Newcastle pull off the double over his home-town club - he supports their bitter rivals Port Vale.

The former Watford and Portsmouth centre-back said: "I was born there, but we moved away very early on. I'm actually a Port Vale fan, or at least my dad is, so I've picked that up from him. It would be nice to beat Stoke for him."
