Newcastle United striker Michael Owen is no guarantee for Fabio Capello's newlook England squad.
The Sunday Express says the new system England will play under Capello demands a striker with more of the physique of the traditional big, strong centre-forward than Owen, and there might not be room for two out-and-out strikers.
Capello's back room staff, which includes a fitness trainer and assessor, will want to visit Newcastle to examine Owen's ability to remain a vital part of England's World Cup campaign.
One of Capello's backroom staff said: "He will go out to the Premier League clubs to find out much more about each of the players and about their fitness levels."
