Newcastle winger James Milner admits he's delighted his move to Aston Villa last summer fell through.
He revealed: "I had just got to Villa's training ground when I got the call from Newcastle saying the transfer was off. I was actually in Martin O'Neill's office so it was close.
"Who knows what would have happened if I had gone to Villa. I had a great year there on loan and they're a good club, but I'm delighted with the way things have worked out for me at Newcastle.
"I want to be here for a long time and I want to win things."
