Newcastle United winger Jonas Gutierrez has welcomed interest from Barcelona. The former Real Mallorca star is under consideration by Barca as they seek cover for their wing-backs.

"The truth is that it is a great team," said Jonas. "They showed it last season, winning everything. For me, joining a great team is always a dream, playing with great players also.

"I am sensitive to Newcastle. But obviously, playing there (in Barcelona) is the dream of any player."
