Ignacio Gonzalez admits his start at Newcastle United has been unsettled by Kevin Keegan's departure.

The Uruguay international, on a season-long loan from Valencia, told the Evening Chronicle: "It has not been easy for me. Things have not been too good and there has been tension.

"This is because Kevin Keegan left the club.

"I understand that, but as a professional you should not let that affect your game.

"The club have still treated me very well and I am very happy to be here."
