Danny Guthrie says Newcastle United's dressing room are looking to skipper Michael Owen to lead them out of the bottom three.

The midfielder told the Evening Chronicle: "Guys like Michael are putting the work in to drag us young lads through it.

"You need guys like Nicky Butt and him to get us through.

"I am sure they will be a big help."
