Newcastle United development chief Willie Donachie says the big changes at Academy level are underway.

Donachie though knows that there will plenty of departures in pre-season.

And it means he and United development coach Peter Beardsley will be working with a set of new faces next July.

Donachie told the Evening Chronicle: "At the minute we have a lot of lads going on trial.

"They are trying to find new clubs.

"But with the way finances in football are at the minute, it isn't always straightforward."
