Newcastle United youngster Freddie Woodman turned down the chance to join Celtic on loan, and went to Aberdeen instead.
He still ended up in the Scottish Premier League, but many fans were surprised he went to Aberdeen instead of the de-facto champions.
The reason why he went to Aberdeen is because he had given a verbal commitment to the manager, and he did not want to back out of it.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes spoke about the move.
"There were lots of clubs in for Freddie," said McInnes.
"But his commitment and word to us meant a lot, and we're looking forward to getting him with us.
"He's a fantastic young talent. I'm really looking forward to working with him.
"An agreement was in place, but Freddie obviously had to be on the bench on the night for Newcastle. We were keen to get that resolved before the window closed."
