Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez is hopeful of earning a call up to the Spanish national team in the foreseeable future.
While Newcastle are currently enduring a terrible campaign, one of the few bright sparks for the Magpies has been the impressive form of youngster Perez.
Perez's contribution was recognized recently when he was awarded the North East Young Player of the Year award and the striker has now revealed that he harbours ambitions of playing for his native Spain if he can continue to improve at club level.
The 22-year old said: "I hope one day I can play for Spain, it will be a dream for me. But I will have to work hard because I am still young. I have a lot to do to achieve that dream.
"Things have gone very well for me at Newcastle so far and I am really happy to get my award. It is a big pleasure for me. If I get this, it is because I have done something well."
