Newcastle United youngster Shola Ameobi is looking to grab his England U21 chance with both hands after receiving a call-up this week.
The 19-year old has been drafted into Stuart Pearce's squad for upcoming European U21 Championship qualifiers against Belgium and Iceland and is looking to perform after the high of making his St James' Park debut for the Magpies against Everton on Saturday.
"I've always wanted to represent my country, so to get the opportunity is an excellent thing," he told the club's official wbebsite.
"I won't take it for granted if I get a chance to play."
He added: "To make my debut at St James' Park for the first team was a great honour.
"I had a great reception from the fans, and I was honoured. I'm not going to take anything for granted.
"It was a dream come true since I first saw (older brother) Shola play here against Chelsea about 10 years ago.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play in front of so many great fans. To have done that was amazing, and I'll never forget it."
