Newcastle United are wrapping up a deal for Anderlecht defender Chancel Mbemba this weekend.

The centre-back has undergone his medical but not all formalities have been completed, says the Evening Chronicle.

The man from Anderlecht has been on Tyneside in the last 24 hours but the game away to Sheffield United could come too soon for the 20-year-old.

Mbemba's former Anderlecht teammate Aleksandar Mitrovic joined Newcastle this week.
