Newcastle won't pay top price for Liverpool striker Carroll

Newcastle United won't pay over the odds for Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.

Carroll will return to Anfield in June when his loan with West Ham United comes to an end.

The Daily Mail says Newcastle have never hidden the fact they would like to bring Carroll back to Tyneside two-and-a-half years after selling him for a record-breaking £35million.

But, as is the case with West Ham, Newcastle would be unwilling to pay anything close to the £17million Liverpool were looking for when he became available.
