Newcastle United won't give up Demba Ba without a fight.

Reports claim Tottenham and Chelsea are readying an approach to activate the reported £7 million release clause - which was first exposed publicly by Spurs manager Harry Redknapp - in the Senegal international's contract.

But United are determined to hang onto the 27-year-old, who scored 16 goals in 34 appearances in his first season at the club.
